Jeffrey Smith

Jeffrey Smith currently serves as Vice Chairman of Pacific General, where he advises on firm strategy, cross-border initiatives, and senior-level relationships.
Previously, he held senior leadership positions at several of the world’s leading financial institutions. He served as Managing Director and Global Sector Head at HSBC, where he led corporate and investment banking coverage for financial institutions and served as U.S. Head of the Financial Institutions Group. Prior to HSBC, he spent more than a decade at Morgan Stanley, including as Managing Director and Global Head for Non-Bank Financial Institutions, overseeing coverage of specialty finance companies and market-funded lenders. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Smith Barney and Lehman Brothers, including as Founding Head of M&A for Financial Institutions at Lehman Brothers.
He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Lawrence University.
